I have been making jam the past couple of weeks. I made two batches of muscadine, and one of plum. I had some of the plums leftover, so I'm planning on buying a few more pounds and making another recipe of them. The recipe I use, makes up 10-12 cups every time I make it. It is a real toss-up around our house as to which we like best--muscadine, or plum. Not much else is going on around the cabin, right now. We have been getting in some firewood, which is a lot of work, but well worth it, come cold weather.
The garden is about gone, except for one tomato plant. We have a few 'volunteer' pumpkins that are just about orange. They were a nice surprise, as we had no pumpkins from the plants we actually planted.
Have a nice day!

How lucky for you to have the volunteer pumpkins! I wish I had a place large enough to grow them. You've been busy with the jams... Yum!!
ReplyDeleteMaking jam is something I really enjoy. I'd make more if I had a bigger pantry!
DeleteHi, my grapes didn't do good this year, so for the first time in a long time I will not be making grape jelly. But, I have lots in my jelly cabinet to last us. I love pumpkins and I think next year we are going to grow some.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so nice to have extra left over for the next year. I didn't get any grapes this year, either.
DeleteGood morning! I followed your blog years ago and somehow lost track. For some reason it came to mind this morning and so I thought I'd pop by and say "hello"!
ReplyDeleteMuscadine and scuppernong grapes grew on my Grandma Davis' farm in NC. I used to love picking them and eating them with my daddy. They have a wonderful flavor and make a pretty good wine, too. My Uncle Charlie was locally famous for his. Anyway, just wanted to say, "hi" and wish you a Happy New Year! :-)
