We don't have a rain gauge, but we've had others tell us they've had anywhere from 8 to 10 inches since Saturday! However much we've received, it has been welcome.
It seems that summer has virtually flown by~I can't believe we are already to the middle of August (almost). Soon the golden rod and wild asters will be blooming and other signs of fall will be in sight. The transition from summer to fall is rather long for us and we have stretches of sometimes hot, sometimes cool days, all mixed together. But those cool fall days are still a few weeks away and our hot temperatures are on their way back.
Have a great day,
R~Mary
I noticed some golden rod along our creek bank. We might be getting some rain today. REally need it.
ReplyDeleteThis summer has flown by.

We heard a rumor, our weather guy said the hot summer weather is over (being from the Show Me state, I'll have to see it to believe it. It's sure been pure heaven around here since last week! Hoping for it to stick around over the weekend, because we have plans to attend the festival in St Charles, Friday! Would be nice if we have sweater weather.

When we drove to Fort Smith Friday there was a mountain about 20 miles before we got there that was completely brown. It looked like November - all the leaves were brown and dead. I sure hope the rain got there in time to keep those trees alive. We got about 5 inches at my house and we were thrilled. Blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're getting some rain, Rose Mary... send some our way!!
ReplyDeleteThe cooler temperatures here have been wonderful...I can't wait for fall, but it's sad to see summer ending- the days are already getting shorter!
I am jealous of your rain!! It has been so dry here. I'm longing for fall and hoping its a wet one for us.
