Just Checking In~

Hi friends~hope you are all doing well. We have been busy around here. We have one of our garden beds completed and hope to have more done by the end of the week. I also want to start a new herb bed and tear out the old one. Our ground is pretty wet right now, so some things are at a standstill.

My hubby brought home two trailer loads of mulch today~so that will keep us busy for a while!

Well, spring is officially here on the farm. The wild peaches and plums have bloomed, the Dogwoods are starting to bloom and. . .today, Angus, our Labrador/Airedale mix, killed a Water Moccasin! Yikes!! Jackie, our shepherd mix, wanted to help, but we didn't let her get in there and try since Angus was practically stuck in a bunch of brambles while he was killing it. I'd like it to be a better situation for her, so she won't get bit the first time she goes after one.

Hope you are all having a great week!

  1. Oh my, hope miss Jackie stays away from the snakes! Not sure what my girl would do, probably high-tail it back to the house, LOL!

  2. Hooray for spring...YUCK for the snakes.

They're the only part of southern living that I dislike!!!

  3. Snakes already? You must be warmer than me, were still flirting with 32 at nights. But I hope to get our beds done soon too and like you, a new herb bed is a must! I love dogwoods!

  5. Hi RM,
Oh How I wish we could be outside as much as you. We had a nice day last Saturday and were out all day, then cold again until today. 60 out. But after today cold again for the next week. Two days in a row would be nice. HA
Sounds like you are getting a lot done.

  6. It sounds like you are very busy, Rose Mary. We're going home next week. I wonder what the flowers, etc look like. We'll be here at the lake, three weeks on Monday. That's the longest we've stayed here, ever! Bet the grass is knee high at Home!
