Tuesday

Hi all~I know, I've been AWOL for a while--just busy with revisions on a book and the usual summer time rush of mowing, gardening, etc.

Our garden has not been very successful this year. I am not ready to chalk it up to the square foot gardening that we are experimenting with, since I can't find anyone in our area that has a good garden this year. Maybe next year.

This is a fairly 'new' vintage addition to my kitchen. This is a Ransburg bread box that I bought off of Ebay a couple of months ago. I really love Mr. Chanticleer. I've also purchased a set of canisters that have Chanticleer on them~so my kitchen is getting very chicken-y!

Hope you are all having a fun summer.

  2. Mary your bread box is wonderful - I know you love it! I haven't seen many good gardens here either and yesterday I (gasp) paid $25 for a bushel of purple hull peas. They were $15 if you pick them yourself and when I looked at my husband he quickly whipped out his billfold, took out a $10 bill and handed it to me. I'll pay the difference he said! And this from a man who won't spend a buck unless he's dying. :) And because of my hands he had to shell the whole bushel by himself. But they sure will taste good this winter! blessings, marlene

  3. Love the Ransburg. I have red flower Ransburg canisters I use. I just love the pop of color they add to my kitchen.

Our garden is a bust this year. I picked lettuce and peas and that looks like that's going to be it. Too much cold and rain up here this awful summer.

  4. No book deal just yet, Sue~just the possibility after it is reviewed again. I'll keep you updated:)

Marlene, my hubby would have 'paid', too, LOL!

Hi Chris--nice to see you! I guess it's just not a good year for gardening.

Hi Elizabeth~thanks for visiting my blog!

I'm glad all of you like the bread box. If I'm not careful I could get addicted to Ransburg!

  5. Can't wait for the book... whatever it is!!! The bread box is wonderful... love that rooster. My garden is gone already. I've heard most people say this year wasn't that good for them either.

  6. Hi Roswemary. Love the bread box, you can always find what your looking for on ebay. Thanks for your prayers. I am recovering pretty good, they say its because I am 44 and not 70. Alitle young to have it done but I could not wait any longer, it was too worn done. Its amazing what they can do.
