Brrrr!!!!

Hi friends~it is cold, cold, cold and going to get colder. Our high on Friday is supposed to be 15 degrees! That is very cold for us. At least we've had a little bit of the pretty white stuff to go with it. We aren't getting much at a time--usually just enough to cover the ground.

How is your new year shaping up? I don't think we ate enough black-eyed peas around here. One of the toilets got stuck running for hours. At the same time a leak developed under the kitchen sink and together they drained our sand filter, leaving us without water on Saturday night. Some extra filters under the kitchen sink were ruined, along with a few other things. Yesterday, I thought the pump went out on my washing machine, but now we think it is only a switch and can be fixed. I'm thankful for that. A new washer is not in our budget right now!

I hope you are all having a great day~~Stay Warm!!!

  3. We started out the new year with the truck quitting on us on the way home yesterday because of the cold! But not to worry, we were fine and made it home about 8:30 last night. So glad to be here, even when things break down. And yes, it's cold! blessings, marlene

  4. It is cold and snowy here, too. My husband is out shoveling. Hope nothing else goes wrong around your house. At least with the water leaking, the pipes can't freeze on you.

We didn't eat any black eyed peas here, I love'em, no one else does. Maybe I need to fix a big ole pot just for me?

  8. Its cold here too, but not as cold as you are there! No snow. After a while you get used to it. It doesn't seem as cold to me today as it did a few days ago, but it really is temperature wise.

  12. It's just not easy staying warm these days. I told the Preacher today that I don't think I'll be even getting out of bed on Thursday and Friday when the highs are supposed to be in single digits!

  13. My mom always said "bad things come in threes". Sounds like you've had yours! It's even cold here in Dallas, 25 degrees! Stay warm and comfy in your cordwood cabin. :)
