Good Morning

We let these 'babies' out of their pen two days ago--and so far, so good. We still have all six of them! There was originally eight, but a raccoon made a mid-night run a few weeks ago and took two of them.

Of course, now that they are out, they want nothing to do with us! That is the thing I don't like about Bantams--they are just too wild. Next, I'd like to get some Rhode Island Reds. We used to have quite a few of those and they tame down quite nicely.

Everybody have a great day.

  1. First I want to thank you for the creative blogger award, Rose Mary!

Secondly...another walk down memory lane with Pat...my granddad had Bantums. One day he was mowing the yard. I was about 4 or 5 at the time. He asked me to shut the gate by the hen house and of course I ran over to do just that. To my surprise a Banty Rooster jumped on my head and flogged me all the way through the yard and right up onto the porch where Granny plucked him from my head. The next day we feasted on chicken and dumplings! I remember that event, like it was yesterday!;-)

  3. Chickens are so pretty to me, but I'm a little scared of them too! I remember one attacking my grandmother when I was a little girl. ( a rooster )
