Fall Decorating. . .

I'm still working on getting out some of my fall things. I'd like to get out some sweaters, take a walk through the falling leaves and maybe sit around a campfire~but it's a little early in the season for that. Still, my hubby did mention that the hickory trees were starting to turn yellow back in the mountains behind us!
I found this wreath at the flea market last week. I really like the way it looks on my front door. This is the first time I've ever put up a fall wreath.

I found this material when I made a stop at Wal Mart. I like the patchwork look it has and think it might make a nice shade for the window on my kitchen door. My daughter says the patterns in the squares remind her of something that Charles Wysocki would have painted on a quilt. It's not truly a 'fall' pattern, but I think the colors in it will do nicely. I should have enough left over to make a table runner.
The little ceramic pumpkins in the bowl were on a shelf at the flea market and I just couldn't resist adding them to the small collection that I already have.
I hope all of you are having a nice day. It rained all night and is quite soggy outside this morning. I'm wondering if we'll end up getting any rain from Ike, once he has made landfall. Seems we've just had too much rain this year. We had too little for several years, so I'll just be thankful that we're not too dry anymore.
Happy fall,
R~Mary

  1. Hi, I like that wreath.
I'm starting to get out some of my fall decorations for the kitchen. I'm not a big decorator but I do have a "seasonal" shelf in my kitchen that I try to change out each season.

  2. I'm getting out fall decorations too Rose Mary. I have quilted wall hangins on both my doors and that was tricky - they're both steel! I finally glued some magnets to the back. :) blessings, marlene

  5. RM,
I think that material will work really nice. And I love those little pumpkins. I would have bought those too if I had seen them. Take a picture for us of how the curtains look in the window when that are done.
