Lunar Eclipse

Did any of you see the lunar eclipse last night--or rather, early this morning? I got up around 5:30 and couldn't find the moon at all--and we weren't able to see a 'full' eclipse here, so I guess it was just cloudy. I had a hard time getting back to sleep. So much for science!

The gorgeous picture of a partial lunar eclipse is from our local weather station.

We are still having hot temperatures around here. Yesterday my thermometer showed 100 degrees in the shade. Our air conditioners are getting tired of this--I just hope they last through September-- then we won't need them anymore this year.

I am looking forward to fall, but summer does seem to have flown by terribly fast. It won't really seem like fall around here until at least October. We'll probably have a few 'teaser' days in September to get us ready.

Hope you are all having a great day.

R~Mary

  1. Good for you getting up so early...sorry it wasn't worth it! We've been cooling off at night here already. Who knows what we'll get for Sept. it could be 90 or it could be 40!!

    Take care,

  4. When I got up at 4:30 this morning a full moon was peeking through my kitchen window...and then I remembered the eclips and went ahead and read a book until 5:30 and saw a partial bit of it!

  5. No I didn't even look, 'cause we have lots of trees to the west, and all around actually.

What a beautiful picture from your weather channel. They said it would be reddish. Beautiful!!!

  6. It was so pretty wasn't it? Lovely photo!

I loved your visit to see the trolleys. : )

It is so hot here still but less humid. Only one good rain in weeks and things are dying from lack of water. Looks so dry and brown and sad.

Some have too much and others have none. I hope that Fall will bless us all with the right amount or rainfall and cooler days soon!

    Take care and stay well!

    Hugs,
    Sue

  8. Yep, I went outside about that time, too and could not find the moon. I looked where it was supposed to be and where it wasn't supposed to be, no moon!!!

    That's a gorgeous photo!

  11. Missed the eclipse due to clouds, so it is nice to see this. We have had triple-digit weather here until this week, and we are getting daily rain showers, finally!

  12. Although I didn't wee the eclipse out here, our full moon has been gorgeous. Isn't God grand!

I, too, am looking forward to fall.
