Rain

Gustav is too late to spend the holiday weekend with us, but he managed to show up early this morning. We will get about 6-10 inches before it is over~a little more than we need, so there will be some flooding in low areas. We'll also get some cooler temps while he is here, so I won't complain too much.
I do pray that all of you in his path weathered the storm okay. I know there is a lot of damage and water left behind.
I've got housework this morning, but I think I'll spend the afternoon curled up with a good book and a cup of tea.

  1. We're going to the lake for a few days. Heard we are to get some of the rain from Gustav, also. I like the idea of the cooler temperatures. That's when we enjoy the lake most.

Everytime we've been at the lake this year, we've had severe storms! I hope that doesn't happen again, but a little rain will be nice.

  2. Gustav missed us and that was fine because we received about 20 inches of rain at our home from Fay. Just keeping an eye on the other stuff in the tropics. mmmm, good book cup of tea sounds nice.

  4. I'm still in Missouri but Jerry said we're supposed to get nearly 20 inches at our house. They've already lowered the lake 3 feet in anticipation. My car isn't ready and won't be until tomorrow or Thursday but it looks like I'll be driving home in the remnants of it. We already have pretty big limbs down because of the wind. But it could have been so much worse and I'm extremely grateful that I don't live on the coast and have to experience that every couplel of years. Snuggle in and read - that's what I'm going to do here. blessings, marlene
