Rainy Thursday

It has been cold and rainy all day today. Mr. Sunshine never even poked his head out to say hello.

I've been painting some shelves and doing some rearranging in my linen closet and drawers. Seems like days like this are mostly good for drinking something hot and reading a book!

We had chicken and dumplings for supper, so that warmed us up a little bit. What do you make for supper on dreary winter evenings?

  3. Chicken and dumplings sounds so yummy and just perfect for a cold winters night!
I often make chili, hamburger soup, chicken soup, stew, and lintel soup to chase away the winter chill during our long Northern winters. Just got a new recipe for cauliflower and cheese soup and can't wait to try it. (We had it at a church supper and it was delicious!
Sounds like you are keeping busy! Stay warm!

  6. It's rainy and cold here today, but there will be no cooking, as I have to go to work this evening. I love chicken and dumplings and wish I had time to make some today! We usually make a pot of chili or vegetable soup on cold days.

  9. Ooooh- chicken and dumplins sound wonderful. I love to fix a big pot of chili on a cold winter's day and have it with homemade hot tamales, or if I'm feeling lazy, corn chips and shredded cheese. (We eat it with the corn chips a lot... *LOL*)
