Palm Sunday

Matthew 21: 1-11
1As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
4This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: 5"Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "
6The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. 8A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"
10When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
11The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

Have a blessed Sunday and remember the importance of the week ahead.

  3. I love this passage of scripture you shared. A friend of mine had lost a loved one and she sited one of these verses as a comfort to her...the one where if they ask why they needed the colt, they were to be told "the Lord has need of it"...she felt as if that is our answer to the question when a loved one dies...the Lord has need of them, and that should settle our spirit, and it should!
I've always wanted to see the Passion Play, maybe someday I will make it!

  4. Hi Rose mary,
Hope you had and are having a nice Palm Sunday.
We had a thunder storm here this morning, I rather like them, then a mild day. Going to turn colder mid week, so when all are here for Easter Sunday, we will probably all be inside.
Working on my Alaska book, should have it finished in a few days. I find it pretty interesting. My cousin and his wife live in Anchorage, we were there to visit a few years ago. Had a great time.
Thankyou for stopping by my site, always happy when I see your name there.

  5. "See, your king comes to you"

Yes, our King comes to us. Comes to us when we don't deserve it. Comes to us and lays down His life so that we may have eternal life.

Praise God for our King, who comes to us.

Thank you for the beautiful post.

  7. You know I love your Sunday posts. I missed church today due to my "virus", sore throat, what ever it is.

If I am sick on Good Friday and Easter-well the church will have to live with a sick person attending.

    Take care,
    Love,
    Terri
