Beautiful ~Almost~ Spring Day

I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden. ~Ruth Stout

This print hangs in my dining room. It is called Early Spring, by Robert Wood. Every time I look at it I get a little of that 'spring rush' I've been experiencing these past few weeks. It looks like such a quaint little farm, the red house so friendly and inviting and the barns down the hill make me wish I could take a walk to them, maybe stopping to pick some of those wildflowers covering the ground.

Every year I try to take each season as it comes and love it and appreciate it, but this year I've found myself more and more impatient for spring! I think because our winter was a little bit colder than it's been the past few years and keeping the curtains closed everyday to keep out the cold wind was really starting to give me cabin fever.

From several of your blogs, I take it that a lot of the snow up north is starting to melt, so spring is on its way for you, too!

Hope you are all having a great day.

RMary

  1. We are indeed in the 60's in NH today so the snow is melting. Although they say it will be cold again this weekend. Oh well!

  2. Rosemary,
We have had two mild days in a row, the snow pack is getting low. But the cold weather is coming back for the weekend. However these two mild days have been wonderful.
Made a Birthday Cake today for my son, he is 41. Still put the train on it that has been put on there since he was a baby, going over to my daughters for dinner so will take it there.
Had a really good thrift store day, so think I will try and behave until next week, its not easy!
Love your spring picture, you must have a very charming home.

  8. I so love the spring picture!! I agree with you. I believe that this year everyone is looking more forward to Spring than ever before.

The hard cold winter could be the reason. I can't wait to REALLY open the windows and air out the house from the winter.

Tonight we will have a thunderstorm roll in and then we will drop to the 40's for a high until next week.

    Take care,
    Love,
    Terri

  10. Oh, Rosemary...I want to crawl right into that painting! How I wish I were Mary Poppins and do just that! We had sunshine today, but it was chilly, and there was fresh snow on the hill (again) when I got up for my appointment at the spa =)

  12. That is a beautiful picture. My favorite type of paintings/prints are scenes like that, no matter what the season.
We did have a couple days of spring here, now it's snowing again!! Nothing major though, maybe 3 inches...spring is coming!!

  13. Rosemary,
I see on Sue's site you said you used a combo. of vinager and baking soda as a fabric softener. What is the magic mix you use? Downey cost so much!!
Been playing with my new finds from yesterday, going to cook a steak on the grill, maybe do a little embroidery or read for awhile. The Birthday for my son last night went well, always nice when we are all at the same place. What more could you ask then all the little ones running around screaming, but my head ache is a lot better now. HA.

  14. I love pictures like that. Into which you can almost go... like Mary Poppins and the children, into the chalk picture.

Me too, I like to live in each Season, and usually do. But like so many, this past while has gotten _long_. :-)
