First Signs Of Spring!

It is a little nippy out this morning, but the sun is beginning to break through the haze on the mountain and will soon be warming these hopeful flowers in the picture above. These little Jonquils were a bonus gift from a friend who gave me a sack of Evening Primrose plants. Somehow the Jonquil bulbs had been mixed in with those she dug for me. Their unexpected arrival was more than welcome, as I had assumed that this spot was too shady to grow any flowers, but the past two springs have proved that they are thriving. March Roses, they are called in some mountain areas. At first, the name seemed a little odd to me, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. Their sunny arrival after a long grey winter is as welcome as any rose could be!

Hope all you friends up north are keeping warm. All of your snow pictures are beautiful!! Stay warm and everyone have a great day.

  1. There are no signs of Spring in NH. We have been very cold but not much snow. Hasn't been above 10 degrees in a long time. That's what we get for having so many 70 degree days in December!

  6. Spring is a long way off for the Teeny Tiny Cabin, but it sure is nice to see your flowers starting to come up!! Daffodils (one of our first Spring flowers) won't be coming up here until late March or early April. Your pictures are beautiful!

  7. I see Spring at your house. Last year my Iris bloomed in January, this year they have not done anything yet. It looks nice.

  8. I can't believe you've got a little green poking up out of the ground. Our weather can't make up it's mind. One week it's spring like and all the snow melts, the next it snows and gets cold.

  9. I am a new reader to your blog but will visit often.

We don't have snow but has been very cold and windy. Isn't it wonderful that we aren't in charge of the weather? We would never please everyone!
